The Battle of the Pascals: Adam: 1 - Blaise: 0

Since I have a group of junior high girls over to my place for dinner on Thursday nights, I thought it might be good to write inspiring quotes on my adorable Ikea chalkboard in the entryway. Hopefully, these great thoughts would stimulate their preteen brains and encourage conversation.

The last quote definitely stimulated their preteen brains. My quote from Blaise Pascal inspired one of my girls to think of her favorite movie star crush and write "ADAM PASCAL IS HOT!" next to Blaise's brilliant quote.

Apparently, Blaise's critique of the human condition is no match for Adam's raspy tenor and boyish charm.

Maybe I need to start quoting cuter people. I wonder if Hugh Jackman has said anything interesting about determinism.

That guy who played Luther in the "Luther" movie wasn't too bad looking. Not to mention that Henry Ian Cusack played played Jesus in "The Gospel of John".

Pascal's triangle helps a lot when expanding binomials. Anybody who makes math simpler has my respect. Whereas I've never heard of Adam Pascal.

Good call, Glen. I actually had a bit of a crush on Luther when I read his stuff in college and I think I had more of a crush once I saw Joseph Fiennes' portrayal in the movie. He is definitely a handsome man.

Maybe I'll keep writing famous quotes on my chalkboard, but hang a picture of the celebrity that played the author next to the quote. For instance,I could hang a picture of Charlton Heston next to a quote by Moses.

And good point about Pascal's triangle, Toph. I don't think Adam Pascal (probably most famous for his performance in RENT) has contributed anything quite that important to society. Although his performance in "School of Rock" was pretty swell.

"A bit of a crush" Jenny? I don't think that laying awake at night and thinking, "If only men now believed that the church was under a babylonian captivity" and memorizing his commentary on Galatians can ben classified as merely "a bit of a crush".

Hey, crushing on Luther is practically a rite of passage. I mean, what girl hasn't pinned a copy of the 95 Theses to her wall or slept with a copy of his Small Catechism under her arm at some point in her life?

The only bad part of my crush on Luther was the week I ate nothing but worms, which was a very unfortunate misunderstanding of the Diet of Worms.
